Household Support Grant Funding for Barnsley Carers (applications now closed)

Caring for a loved one is rewarding, but it can also be financially demanding. From household bills to weekly food shops, the cost of living continues to rise—and we know this adds extra pressure for many carers.

To help carers manage these costs, we are pleased to announce that we have been awarded funding through the Housing Support Fund to give 100 unpaid carers a food voucher worth £100.

Not only will this provide practical help to unpaid carers, it goes just a small way to recognising the hard work they do – for free – to help family members, friends or neighbours live better lives.

Funding has been made possible through Barnsley Council and the Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) as part of the Household Support Fund, and we would like to thank them for their support.

Limited Voucher Availability

We know that, in previous rounds, the demand for vouchers has been higher than the availability.  We do our best to ensure that vouchers are distributed fairly across Barnsley and to carers most in need, and we are continually seeking funding to increase the levels of support we can provide. If you are unsuccessful in securing a voucher and are in financial hardship, please let us know if you would like to look at other ways we might support you.
